World renowned musicians play in the Northern Highlands during ‘Music in May’

As part of the celebrations for 400 Years of Golf (www.dornoch400.com) Visit Dornoch & the Royal Dornoch Golf Club are promoting a month of musical events in May. There will be live music in a number of local venues, including Grannies’ Heilan’ Hame, The Eagle Hotel, The Whisky Bar in the Castle Hotel and the Dornoch Inn.

Sarah McQuaid, a soulful singer, smart and sensuous songwriter, and scintillating guitarist performs at the Ardross Hall on Sunday 15th May.

On Saturday 28th May, Mairi Orr, a singer /songwriter with Dornoch connections, is joined by Ross Martin (Dàimh) and Eilidh Shaw (The Poozies) at the Carnegie Hall in Clashmore. Mairi’s recent CD is entitled “Jenny Does Burn” referring in the title track to Dornoch’s witch Janet Horne.

The musical month ends with Bruce Molsky, an American fiddler, banjo player, guitarist and singer performing in Bonar Bridge Community Hall on 31st May.
