Where We Are

Getting Here

Dornoch is easily accessible by road, rail or air.

By road, Dornoch is just 2 miles off the A9 trunk road and is within an hour’s drive of Inverness. Aberdeen is an easy 3 hours drive away and both Edinburgh and Glasgow are within 4 hours.

Inverness Airport is just an hour away. It has direct links to London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Luton, Bristol, Belfast and Manchester, as well as the Scottish Islands. There is also an international service to Amsterdam.

Various car hire companies are based at the airport.

The nearest rail stations are at Tain, 9 miles to the south and Golspie 11 miles north.  Both have direct links to Inverness in the south and Wick and Thurso to the north.

Parking When You Get Here

Dornoch has narrow streets and the road to the beach is single track. There are three places designated for daytime motorhome parking – Meadows Park at the west entrance to Dornoch, Dornoch South Pay & Display in the town centre and the overflow car park on Beach Road – marked by red stars on the map. Other car parks are not suitable.

Coaches can no longer park in the Square, but there are two lanes for up to five coaches in Dornoch South (Shore Road).

Overnight motorhome parking is available at the Dornoch Caravan Park, on Beach Road, which also offers a chargeable emptying service for non resident motor homes.
