The long days are stretching out as we approach the summer solstice – time for three rounds of golf in a day! After a break of 22 years, the PGA Northern Open returns to Royal Dornoch, currently rated the #1 course in Scotland. Spectators are welcome and entry is free, so do come and watch some great golf 21-24 June. Our 5 star Historylinks museum is now open seven days a week from 10 am until 4 pm, with interesting and interactive displays – ideal for children. The Fisherfolk Festival in Balintore celebrates the history & heritage of the Seaboard Villages, 24-26 June .
The Dornoch Pipe Band plays every Saturday in the Square from 8 pm – 9 pm and includes a Highland Dancing display – not to be missed. The monthly community market takes place on Wednesday 8 June from 9:30 am – 1 pm with 28 stalls selling local produce, arts and crafts. There is music at venues in and near Dornoch to suit all tastes – Jazz in the Village on 4 June, Budapest Cafe Orchestra on 11 June, Northern Lights, Musick Fyne in Dornoch Cathedral on 14 June and a Ceilidh on 24 June.
Get out in the open air to enjoy pony rides, the Captain’s Mixed foursome golf at Royal Dornoch on 5 June, a guided walk on Struie Hill on 16 June, find out about ‘Gaelic in the Woods’ in Ledmore & Migdale on 18 June, or join in 5k or 10k Fun Run at Berridale on 12 June.
