The annual Charity Tractor run, affectionately known as ‘Gar’s Tractor Run’, was first held in 2013 by local man Gary MacAngus to raise funds for his favourite charity Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS). Tragically, in December 2013, Gar died suddenly aged just 53 – just months after the inaugural run.

Gar’s wife, Catherine and their son, Ross vowed to keep the event going in his memory and to date an amazing £85,000 has been raised, with £73,000 going to CHSS and more than £12,000 to Macmillan Nurses. This year we all hope to add to the total.

As Gar’s wife, Catherine said “Gary would have been so proud of everyone – the drivers, the bakers, cooks, organisers and especially the people who donate to these very worthy causes.”

We hope you’ll join us on the day to see them off, or see them at their stops throughout the journey and, if possible, a donation would be hugely appreciated.

The event starts in Dornoch Square at 10am and the tractors complete a 53 mile round trip from Dornoch, through Rogart, Lairg, Invershin and back to Dornoch. It really is quite a sight.

Anyone who would like to take part in the 53-mile circular run, which starts and ends in Dornoch, can contact here.

If you can donate, please do so here.
