Fibre Fest

Fibre Fest 17th -19th March 2017

The organisers of Fibre Fest are delighted to announce the programme for the 8th annual celebration in 2017. The Gala Opening Talk is entitled ‘In the Footsteps of Sheep’ by feral spinner Debbie Zawinski and relates her travels around Scotland with her spinning, her knitting and her tent! Our Masterclass tutors are experts in their field, with felting by Sheila Bates, advanced spinning by Jennie Howes and ‘making a small travel holdall’ by Denise Brown. There are also learning classes in beginners knitting one for adults and and one for children, and ‘from sheep to sock’ led by Debbie Zawinski – a traveller’s guide to making socks! As always we have lots of trade stands with all the ‘makings’ for a wide range of hand crafts. Places are limited and can be booked via the website

There will be drop-in sessions on both days and demonstrations all weekend, including simple hand embroidery and ‘5 minute block sewing’.

The cushion competition returns this year, so get sewing!

All the details can be found on our web site www.fibrefest.org.uk
